There is just something fun about being someone else. Disney and Alice Wonderland costumes help in the magic of entering into the world of another person for a little while. Whether you are an adult or newborn it’s just plain fun to be a Disney character.
It is very interesting why people choose their Adult Disney Princess costume or any other Disney costume. Could it be that who they choose is little bit of them? We are all characters and Disney has a way of pinpointing qualities we can relate to. I’m not a crab but a mom can feel a bit like Sebastian from Little Mermaid when running after teenagers.
A costume can help us hide but also be seen in a different light than we normally don’t portray out in public. Have you ever felt like Captain Hook with an alligator chasing you? Or maybe a confused Beast with a big ego bruised and you just need someone to see the real you. You can see others as Disney characters too. I’ve met an Iago or two in my lifetime from Aladdin and seen many happy go lucky people like Timon and Pumba from the Lion King or even a mouse with an Adult Mickey Mouse costume.
We all want to feel like a princess and find our Prince Charming. We can put on a Disney costume and be royalty. Who hasn’t dreamed of being Cinderella with a fairy Godmother? Or maybe Snow White whose evil stepmother falls off a cliff.
The magic of Disney grabs the heart of a character we strive to be. Showing others as our character selves let’s people know us a bit better and seeing a bit into the people we would really like to be or feel like.
The best thing about Disney is that there is always a happy ending. Don’t we all wish that for our lives? It is what we strive for, keeps us going to the next day, that we will get our happily ever after. With Disney costumes we can dress up day after day and dream of our happily ever after and make it through another day.
