Your Little Girl’s Bedroom Colors
Your daughter loves purple. It is her favorite color in the world and whenever she has a choice-whether it’s a lollipop or a balloon at a birthday party – she will undoubtedly always choose purple.
So now it is time to do a makeover from her toddler bedroom to a “big girl bedroom”. You don’t even have to ask what color she wants as her theme. But it is important not to over-do it. The walls, the carpet, the curtains, and the bedding should all be taken into consideration.
Let her have her favorite color, but rather than going overboard on the monochromatic look, try mixing in another color or two that will bring out the purple, say a pale green or even yellow (or both). Focus your attention on one area, say the bed, and let her go wild with her favorite color. A nice purple quilt and pillows would give her a favorite place to lounge.
Now that she has her purple kids bedding, you can have fun adding other colors, pale green walls, fun window treatments, and colorful artwork. By not going overboard on one color, you will have an easier transition when it comes time to change the room to a new look. You may not have to re-paint the walls. Just change out the bedding and the curtains and move the furniture around. This will make it easier when her tastes change and it is time, once again, for a more grown-up look.
